Making homemade pie crust is easier than you think. Here is a basic recipe for pie crust, yes, it really has just four ingredients.
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup shortening
1/2 cup water
Baking Instructions:
To make your pie crust even better, before starting, chill the bowl and pastry cutter in the refrigerator. Use ice cold water for the mix.
In a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. With a fork or pastry cutter, cut in the shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the water until the mixture forms a ball.
Divide the dough in half. Shape dough into balls. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for four hours or overnight.
Roll out the dough on a floured counter. Don not over work the dough.
