Prune Breakfast Topping
This prune breakfast topping will have anyone anticipating their prunes at breakfast!
It is a delicious warm fruit topping for waffles, pancakes, or French toast. Easy to make overnight in a crockpot. Really yummy.
Ingredients:
2 cup orange juice
1 cup orange marmalade
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1 cup water
12 oz package pitted, dried prunes
2 lemon slices
Cooking Instructions:
Start making your prune breakfast topping by combining in a small crock pot: orange juice, marmalade, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and water. Stir in the prunes and lemon slices. Cover and cook on low heat setting in the crock pot for 8 to 10 hours.
Serve warm on waffles, hot creamed cereal, oatmeal, sponge cake, pancakes, toast or English muffins.
Number servings varies: Makes 1 quart of topping
